This photo shows Henderson Street from the Cowgate (at the bottom of Mill Lane). You can see the top of the old Kirk spire to the left and possibly the old saw mill to the right.

God…..How things change! I stayed in Cowgate from 1970’s. I remember the Wood Yard buildings, but not much else. Then I ended up with one of the houses where this used to be!! I wonder what it will be like after another 50 years?

Muriel Davidson used to live at no2 Cowgate as a child (9 - 10 yrs old) before her family emigrated to australia in circa 1960.

I was born in the Cowgate - and wished I had some photos.. born 4 May 1945 - and moved to Golf Crescent when I was about 4 and started school. Left for Australia Dec 1955
