what a dreary looking street, but i bet it had a lot of character!

Constance (2007-04-23)

It sure did have character, I lived right next door to the police station! Never knew it to be dreary though. Always somebody to stop and chat with.

My shop is also in this picture. It hasn’t changed much except most of the shops are not there now including mine[now houses], but still a very friendly street always someone you know to stop and chat.

My house was all the way down on the right at No 47 opposite Wullie Fairlies barber shop..

Catherine Jaraszkiewicz (2009-05-01)

Willie Fairlie, the barber, used to star in the Tayport variety concerts, playing tunes on a saw- no kidding! The sound was a bit like a violin. Tayport had talent!

A lively toon, indeed 3 butchers? in castle street, 2 bakers, 2-3 barbers, 2 banks, 4 grocers, 2 sweety shops. Grahman and Gibbs and after the Friday night dance in the toon hall at 1 o,clock fresh cream eclairs. aggh
