This beautiful structure was in the back yard of the home my son and his wife rented while doing a U. S. Navy exchange tour with the R. A. F. They chose to stay off base (Luchers) and rented this beautiful property for approx. three years during the late 1990s and early 2000s. We thouroughly enjoyed visiting the U. K. approx. nine times during the four years of his deployment. Fred Gallagher, Jr.

I suppose I am one of the few who have been to the top of the lighthouse . It would have been in the mid 1950’s . My fishing friend Greta Gaul lived ther at that time . Her dad as I recollect was the lighthouse keeper on the Pile Light . She had a small boat from which she fished ; I was not allowed on it ( her fathers rule ) I fished from the sand banks for flukes or from the Reevet Rock at high tide . Always had a fire going and cooked welks for a snck while fishing .

Oh Happy days .
