This house was the old Police Station. I lived there from 08/09/1955 until 09/01/1958 when my father was village policeman.

I knew a man who lived here. I was very young, so it was at least between ‘79 and ‘86ish. His name was Gib, sorry, I only knew his first name. I remember him being very kind, he was in TAMS and I remember him playing Fagin in a production of Oliver! Very scary stuff. He died of cancer, I was too young to really understand what it meant but, as far as I’m concerned, that picture is of Gib’s house.

we lived in this house from about 1972 until Gibb Watson bought it to allow us to move to ‘Glenogle’ in 1986 where we have stayed since - Gibb was a kindly person and was very understanding over the house transaction - originally the house had been owned by Rick Kennedy and his wife who had done some renovation - we had to demolish the old Police Cells and dispose of the huge steel doors which George Birrell and his crew collected - with difficulty - this was a cosy and compact family home for us where be started our family at the time of 2 boys - we had great neighbours in the Pattersons and the Hills - it was a happy time with good memories

Gibb Watson was my father. We moved to 60 Castle Street in the Autumn of 1980. I’m glad that people have good memories of Dad. I have a photograph of him as Fagin, Rich. Scary stuff indeed, but he was as Doug says, a kindly and very understanding man. My sister brings her children to Tayport for holidays and was at the house this Christmas. We both have very fond memories of living there.
