The Scotscraig Curling Club was another long established club in the village, with many enjoying the ‘roaring game’. In the 1920s there was also a seperate ladies club. This picture shows a busy day at the pond behind the tennis courts. It was in use from the 1880s, but before that the curlers used the Garpit pool, now a hollow on the golf course. Although the curling club continued, outdoor curling at Tayport more or less ceased after World War Two.

I bought a copy of this postcard in VG condition at a show in Ottawa, Canada just yesterday. My wife remembers her father curling at a similar club in Newport-on-Tay. That would be within a few years, + or -, of 1940.
