Tayport Instrumental Band
Local History
Tayport Instrumental Band was founded over 100 years ago, and is still going strong, with a regular complement of about 25 members. The band has a remit to promote the practice and performance of music on a communal and amateur basis, to educate members in music and musical techniques, and to provide a community service by public performance of music.
There is a junior band and a senior band. The senior Band, under the baton of Bob McDonald, took 2nd place in Second Section at the Scottish Championships in Preston.
