This postcard of Tayport is from 1957/8.I know because if you have a magnifier look at the lady pushing the pram on the right. She was Mrs.Elsie (Ross)Sykes. I am in the pram, Yvonne Sykes.I went to William St.School and Tayport school, then onto Kikrymont in 1969!

Childhood memories of Castle Street. My Aunt Jean was an Auchterlonie the green grocers. She married Ernest Roger of Whinbrae. They had one son, Alistair, and they emigrated to New Zealand. As a child I used to spend many hours playing shop in the Miss Martin’s hat shop next door to the Auchterlonies. Also in Castle Street was Mr Gunn, the butcher. I also remember fondly, Johnny Gibb the baker.
