It was built as a look out tower by salmon fishers to spot shoals coming into the Tay. I used to collect seagulls eggs (for eating) with my grandfather, Jim Hamilton, there and also mussels when the tide was low.

I remember going over there as a family - walking at low tide, taking our picnic stuff, and dad used to fish. We had to wait until low tide again and walked back in the sinking sands…what adventures for a wee girl

was there today….found a Ford gearbox at the shore not on the island….may have been a very bad storm over the winter. If you walk along the tank stoppers you will find it !
