It was great being a youngster when the steam trains were still runningin the 1940’s. Went to school in Newport, travelling back and forward by train, even at lunchtime. Never missed the train back, Dad was the stationmaster.

Sandy the Steam locomotives were still in use in the 50’s Used to go over to Dundee to the swimming pool on Saturdays
