I reckon printed between 1881-5; it shows the staff at Scotscraig House/Estate. The photo was taken by a Thomas Taylor, Sinclairtown, Kirkcaldy - it has a round identifying stamp on the back. According to Fife photographers records this guy was based at Sinclairtown during the period 1880-1885. He then moved to premises on the High Street Kirkcaldy. My great grandfather (James Bruce Wood) was the little guy in the middle back row; he was the butler. It’s so far back in time; it would be interesting to hear if any of the other employees could be identified by possible relatives locally or elsewhere. My great grandad moved back to Edinburgh before 1890 as far as I can see from census records but his wife and family stayed in Tayport. His wife, Margaret Wood lived for a time in Nelson St with her kids who grew up and moved away apart from one - Jane Wood. Margaret(d1913) & Jane(d196?) lived all their lives in Tayport, latterly living in a little flat on Ogilvy Terr. Both were buried in Tayport cemetery. Although I have visited the cemetery I have been unable to find the plot which was marked by a very small gravestone. My grandmother, Margaret Templeton Wood was a daughter and moved to St Andrews when she married Lewis Rodger.

I remeber Jane Wood she had the flat directly above the shop on the corner which was then known as “Mitchells”. The flats are now known as Taypark Terrrace. I was on 8 or 9 when she passed away so that would make it 1968/69

Sorry haven’t looked at Tayport web site for a while; nice to find that someone remembers Jane Wood in her latter years;
